Terms & conditions

By booking a session at Release the Hounds, you agree to the following terms:

Responsibility

While we hold liability insurance, Release The Hounds (we) will not be held responsible for any client or pet during the hire of our field.  Use of the field shall be entirely at the user/hirer’s own risk.

We will not be held responsible for loss, theft, injury, damage or accidents sustained to personal property, individuals or animals whilst using the field or on the property.

All vehicles parked on the property are left entirely at their owner's risk. We accept no responsibility for damage, accidents or otherwise, whilst they are on the premises.

Dog health and handling/housekeeping

For the safety of all dogs using our field, please ensure that your dog is fully up-to-date with their flu vaccinations and wormers.  If your dog, or any it lives with, is showing ill-health (coughing, diarrhoea, vomiting, general lethargy etc) you must cancel your session.

We will not be held responsible for your dog escaping from our field, and you must ensure that the gate is securely closed before allowing your dog out of your vehicle. This is to protect the animals on our working farm. During field hire, the client is to be held responsible for their dog at all times.  Please do not allow your dog to dig – particularly around the fenced perimeter. This is to maintain the integrity of the field and to minimise tripping hazards.

Prong collars and electronic devices are not allowed. Harsh handling of dogs, either verbal or physical is strictly prohibited.

Please remember at all times that the field is a quiet space. Please be considerate to our neighbours by avoiding parking/waiting in gateways or on the road, and avoiding excessive noise.  Please also be mindful of other road users, pedestrians and horseriders on our lane.

Cleanliness and maintenance

Help us keep the field clean by picking up after your dog. Dog waste must go in the provided bins. If you notice any maintenance issues, please report them to us immediately.

Use of the park

Dogs must remain in your vehicle when outside the fenced area. Only use tennis ball-sized toys to prevent choking hazards, and please avoid throwing sticks. Clean water bowls are available for your convenience.

Payment, cancellations, and rescheduling

Payment is due at the time of booking. While bookings are non-refundable, you can reschedule your session to an available time if needed.

The Field

This agreement does not create any rights over the land and the client/hirer accepts that the landowner/Release The Hounds/organisers maintain control and possession of the field at all times.

We inspect the field and fencing regularly to maintain security but please notify us if you have any concerns.  CCTV is in operation.

Users must inspect the field to ensure that it is suitable for use by their dog(s), ground conditions, fence height, proximity to farm animals etc.

During poor weather, the field may become muddy, and waterproof boots are advised.

The ground is uneven in places, so please take care whilst walking.

Children are welcome on the field but must be supervised by an adult at all times.  Please do not allow them to climb on the fence or dog play equipment to avoid injury.

XL Bully Regulations

Owners of banned or restricted breeds, including XL Bullies, must adhere to all regulations set forth by DEFRA and relevant government bodies regarding the ownership and management of such breeds on the day of their visit to Release The Hounds Dog Park.

When booking our secure field, there is an option to tick if you will be attending with a banned breed of dog.  If you are attending with a banned breed you will need to provide the following certificates before your visit.  These will be checked and saved for future visits.

Please provide the following:

  • Insurance Certificate
  • Exemption Certificate
  • Proof of Microchip number
  • Proof of neutering in line with government guidelines
  1. Handler-to-dog ratio: Exempt breeds can only enter the field with other dogs from the same household.  Each exempt breed of dog must have one handler present for supervision and control eg 1 exempt breed of dog = 1 handler, 2 exempt breeds of dogs = 2 handlers etc.  If an exempt breed of dog is coming with other dogs from the same household but they are not an exempt breed, the not exempt breed of dog needs a minimum of 1 handler present.
  2. All Dogs, including banned breeds, must be securely restrained inside your vehicle upon arrival and leaving the dog park. Please ensure the lock on the gate is properly engaged and locked before allowing your dog to exit your vehicle.
  3. The Handler/s must be over the age of 18.
  4. There can be NO mixing with humans from other households.
  5. All dogs must be neutered and chipped in accordance with government regulations.
  6. Additional compliance: Please agree to additional Terms and Conditions prior to booking.
  7. If you have any queries on the above, please do not hesitate to contact us by email.

At Release The Hounds we believe in providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all dogs, and we appreciate your cooperation in upholding these guidelines for the well-being of everyone involved.
