About the Hounds

Release The Hounds was founded by David Bellwood, Sarah Grange and Ellan Parry.

We make experimentally driven, but unrepentantly popular theatre that’s as exciting as fireworks; theatre to charm your eyes, feast your soul, bite your brain and snap at your heels all the way home....

Our working process reflects our confidence in the creative potential of performers, designers, stage managers, writers, directors, musicians, lighting operators and the audience. We believe in taking the imaginative leap, in leaving space for our audience to play, to think, to wonder, to engage. Release the Hounds is committed to the cross-fertilisation of specialities, and all three artistic directors are involved with more than one area of theatre work. It’s good to be good at more than one thing.

When not making theatre, we collaborate and create as writers, illustrators and as a three-headed media ideas machine, often with the Knifedge creative network.
